Fareham College celebrate Ofstead success
The results have coincided with the college’s recent Ofsted inspection that confirmed the college as ‘good’ with some excellent features and extremely high performance.
The Government tables contain performance data on all colleges, regardless of type, in the country.
Inspectors said in a report that students were highly motivated and their behaviour and approach to work was “excellent”.
The report said Fareham College’s results were significantly above other similar colleges and commended it on the quality of its provision – particularly its approach to teaching and learning as well as its highly productive working relationships with local and national employers.
Ofsted praised the high effectiveness of Fareham College’s highly proactive Employment Hub that seeks out employment opportunities and matches them with the student.
Leah Palmer, Director of Employment Services said: “Preparing students for work and ensuring that they have the very best chance of securing jobs after their training is one of our key objectives.”
Nigel Duncan, Principal and Chief Executive of the College, said the report was extremely positive and a tribute to the hard work undertaken by staff and students of the College.
“We are very proud of the College’s performance and our Ofsted report which compliments the College for its progress and endorses the College’s strategic objective to become outstanding,” he said.
“This is a terrific boost for the College as it embarks on the exciting development of a brand new Centre of Excellence for engineering and manufacturing on the Solent Enterprise Zone.”
